This week we were tasked with creating a personal logo. We were to incorporate the design concept "CRAP" (contrast, repetition, alignment and proximity). I wanted something original that portrayed who I am and what I stand for which is why I took the picture myself. The hands are actually two different hands; one is mine and the other is my son’s. Together they represent family, unity, teamwork, and diversity. The heart represents love, peace, and passion. The wedding ring naturally represents my marriage of 20 years as well as my commitments, dedication, determination and roots. The ring on my son’s hand shows my faith and that I share my Christianity. The pink in my nails indicates that I do not mind dressing up for a night out but the unevenness of my nails shows I have no problem playing in the dirt. The brown background represents the dirt of my roots and the dirt I like to play in. The brown is also an indicator of how plain I was and the contrast of the pink letters of my name and on my nails showing I can be a tomboy or a lady. The “fru fru” letters in my name show I like to be creative while still being appropriate to the situation and that I prefer to be on a first name basis rather than formal and reserved.
